Timber Industry cluster

Description of the Project:
Timber industry cluster of the federal project “PARK” is developed on the territory of Omsk region in format of a complex for wasteless timber processing which allows to organize rational, inexhaustible utilization of forest.
Within the cluster it is planned to carry out full processing of industrial wood (high quality graded wood), low-grade timber, firewood balance and brush wood.

Complex for wasteless timber processing includes five modules:

• lumbering factory (I stage);
• woodworking factory (I stage);
• production of organic carbon (I stage);
• production of wood-polymer composites (II stage);
• production of gummed squared timber (II stage);
• wood-chemical factory (III stage);
• pulp and paper plant (III stage).

Relevance:

Forest regulation in the north of Omsk region was performed in late 70s and in mid 90s of the previous century, which became the major constraint for the development of forest industry. At this moment on the territory of Tevrizsky, Tarsky, Znamensky, Ust-Ishimsky, Sedelnikovsky, Bolsheukovsky, Muromtsevsky and Bolsherechensky districts there is annual “proficit” of raw wood of 7,4 million cubic meters. Rational use of this feedstock surplus will allow establishing production of wide variety of valuable goods and articles for industrial and domestic purposes, raw materials for medicine, farmaceutical, fragrance and cosmetic, food, chemical branches and agriculture. Industrial developing of technologies for biochemical and chlorineless processing of wood and construction of unique high-tech enterprises will be based on the use of bio- and nanotechnologies. Wasteless technologies of woodworking plants will allow using raw wood as renewable energy sources which will be included in the structure of fuel and energy balance of particular districts of Omsk region already in short-term prospect.
For the realization of the project of timber industry cluster CJSC “GC “Titan” developed program and structural scheme of cooperation of all forest operators and timber merchants of Omsk region within the framework of partnership in joint activities.

Course of the project’s realization:

Works on creation of complex for wasteless timber processing started in 2011. The first start-up object was organic carbon plant. Its finished product is charcoal with low ash content (organic carbon) which is necessary for supply of metallurgical silicon enterprises with carbon deoxidizer of high quality.
Organic carbon is produced by means of lumbering wastes processing, firewood, remnants of wood processing, dead wood and other illiquid assets. For this purpose the enterprise of CJSC “Group of Companies “Titan” provides the design of small pyrolysis units of retort type with production capacity of up to 2 000 tonnes per year and large unit with production capacity of more than 100 000 tonnes per year of finished product (carbon deoxidizer). This technology allows reducing effect on environment from wastes which were subjected to burning or disposal on dumps formerly.
Small units which are stowed in lower warehouses of logging enterprises are already commissioned by the partners of the federal project “PARK” on the territory of Tevrizsky district of Omsk region. Production capacity of the new enterprise is not less than 3,6 thousand tonnes/year (two pyrolysis units) of ready products. Besides technical basis for the increase of capacity to 5,4 thousand tonnes/year was created. First supplies of goods have started – organic carbon – to the metallurgical silicon plant “SILICIUM KAZAKHSTAN”. 

Ecology:

The finished product is produced through continuous technological scheme with ecologically pure pattern and provision of ecology preservation, protection of local population and personnel. As a consequence of the process only carbonic acid (СО2) and water vapor (Н2О) is emitted into the atmosphere.
